How to Make Oreo Cookie Truffles with Cream Cheese
Here is how to make Oreo cookie truffles with cream cheese as a no bake dessert for spring or summer:
- Begin by lining a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper. Set aside for later use.
- Count out eighteen of the Oreo cookies. Then use a food processor to pulse the Oreos into fine crumbs.
- Now combine the Oreo crumbs and cream cheese in a large bowl. Mix the Oreo crumbs and cream cheese together until thoroughly combined, with both ingredients being evenly distributed throughout.
- Once the ingredients for the Oreo cookie truffles are well-combined, roll out the Oreo mixture into twenty-four small ovals. The ovals should be about 1 ½ inches long and 1 inch wide and roughly the shape of a bumblebee. Set each oval shaped truffle onto the lined baking sheet you prepared previously.
- Now refrigerate the Oreo cookie truffles for at least a half hour.
- As the truffles chill, roll out black fondant until it’s about ¼ of an inch thick. Use a paring knife to cut the fondant into 48 small strips, about 2 inches long and ¼ of an inch wide.
- Then, use the remaining fondant to roll out 24 bee stingers: about ¼ of an inch in size each.
- Once the Oreo cookie truffles are chilled, remove them from the refrigerator. Set aside.
- Next, place yellow candy melts into a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave the candy melts in 30-second intervals, mixing in between each interval, until the candy has completely melted. Take care not to overheat.
Assemble the Oreo Cookie Truffles
Once the ingredients for these easy no bake Oreo truffles are prepared, here is how to assemble the Oreo cookie truffles into bumblebee shapes:
- To assemble your bumblebee cookie truffles, dip ¾ of the first Oreo truffle into the melted yellow candy.
- Remove and place back onto the lined baking sheet. Working quickly, then add two strips of fondant to the dipped portion of the truffle. Follow with two white chocolate chips in the center between the fondant to act as wings for your bumblebee.
- Next, add a tiny fondant stinger onto the end of the truffle. Be sure to continue to work quickly. You don’t want the melted candy to solidify before you’re able to add all of the features. Otherwise your additions may not adhere to the truffles.
- Finally, add a drop of candy onto the back of two of the candy eyes. Then place the eyes onto the undipped portion of the truffle, using the melted candy as glue to hold the eyes to the body of the bumblebee.
- Repeat for each of your bumblebee cookie truffles until there are none left remaining.
- Then allow the bumblebee cookie truffles to set for at least 30 minutes. After which time, your bumblebee truffles are ready to serve for your guests to enjoy!
