How to Make White Chocolate Covered Pretzels
My easy white chocolate covered pretzels recipe requires just 2-ingredients to make! It doesn’t get easier than that. All you need for your white chocolate covered pretzels is a package of pretzels and white melting chocolate.
There are a number of types of chocolate you can use to make your pretzels. Choose from Wilton white chocolate candy melts, Merckens white melting chocolate or Ghirardelli white melting wafers for best results. You can also use white chocolate chips. However, in this instance you will need to add an additional ingredient for best results.
To make white chocolate covered pretzels, first melt the chocolate using a microwave, double boiler or chocolate melting pot according the package directions. (You can find tips and tricks for melting chocolate below.)
Once the chocolate has melted, dip the pretzels into the melted white chocolate one at a time. Then place the white chocolate covered pretzels onto a sheet of parchment paper after dipping.
Allow the chocolate on the pretzels to cool completely. Once the chocolate has cooled and hardened, you can package the pretzels as desired. If you’d like to give your white chocolate covered pretzels as homemade Christmas food gifts, packaging your pretzels in a mason jar is an easy and cute holiday gift idea. (You can find my tutorial for making a snowman mason jar for a mason jar food gift below.)

Another option for making these pretzels is to allow the white chocolate dipped pretzels to cool. Then, once cooled, drizzle the pretzels with another color of melted chocolate. You can use an insert with a divider for two sections on your Wilton chocolate melting pot for this step, if desired.
Tips & Tricks for Melting White Chocolate
How to Melt Chocolate for Easy White Chocolate Covered Pretzels
You can use a microwave, double boiler or a Wilton chocolate melting pot to make your white chocolate covered pretzels. The chocolate melting pot is my preferred method for melting chocolate as it’s so easy to use.
However, you can also use a double boiler to melt your chocolate. It works just as well; it simply takes a little more effort. If you don’t have a double boiler, you can fill a pan half full with water. Then set a glass bowl in the pan so the water covers about half of the bowl. Make sure the glass bowl isn’t touching the pan because you want the warm water to melt the chocolate and not use direct heat.
Finally, you can also melt the chocolate to make your pretzels in the microwave in a pinch. I don’t recommend this method as you can accidentally burn the chocolate. However, should you choose to use the microwave, heat the chocolate at 20 to 30 second intervals. At each interval, remove the bowl and stir. Then repeat until the chocolate is melted.
How to Melt Chocolate Chips for White Chocolate Covered Pretzels
If you are unable to use melting chocolate for this easy white chocolate covered pretzels recipe, you can use white chocolate chips instead. I recommend adding coconut oil in with the chocolate chips when melting, as chocolate chips tend to get dry. Not only does the coconut oil add moisture back into the chocolate, it also keeps the chocolate from drying out. In addition, coconut oil helps the chocolate harden faster and thickens it so it adheres better to the pretzels. You won’t be able taste the coconut in the chocolate. However, you can use unrefined coconut oil if you’re worried about the taste.
To make white chocolate covered pretzels using chocolate chips, melt the chocolate chips in a melting pot, double boiler or in the microwave. Add 2 teaspoons of coconut oil for each cup of chocolate chips when melting, and mix well to combine.

To make a decorative snowman mason jar for your homemade Christmas food gifts, you will need one 16 oz. mason jar for each gift. I recommend using wide mouth mason jars for ease of getting your pretzels and other treats both in and out of the jars.
You’ll also need red buttons, some black & white plaid ribbon, black craft paint, twine and cardstock to print out the gift tags (provided) to make this snowman mason jar food gift.
In addition, you need the following tools: scissors, a foam paint brush, hole punch and a hot glue gun with glue sticks.
Once you’ve gathered all the materials you need to make this snowman mason jar food gift, begin by painting the lid of the mason jar with black paint. Then set aside to dry.
While the mason jar lid for your snowman mason jar food gift dries, glue the three red buttons in a vertical row on the front of the mason jar using the hot glue gun.
Once the paint has dried, fill the mason jar with the pretzels covered in white chocolate (from the easy recipe above) or other homemade Christmas food gifts of your choice.
Now simply screw the lid onto the mason jar.
Next, tie the black and white plaid ribbon into a bow onto the top of the mason jar. You can use a bit of hot glue to secure the ribbon into place, if desired.
Then print out the printable gift tags found here onto cardstock.
Use a pair of scissors to cut out the gift tags. Then punch a hole into each holiday gift tag with the hole punch. I punched my holes into into the top of each gift tag.
Now fun a piece of twine through the hole in the gift tag. Use the scissors to cut the twine to the desired length.
Use the twine to tie the gift tag onto the snowman mason jar food gift.
